Two victims reported their wallets had been stolen from the Westport Weston YMCA locker room on Aug. 19. Fraudulent purchases were made at a Rite Aid in Fairfield and Milford using the victims’ stolen credit cards, Westport Police said. Investigators were able to secure security video of a female suspect making the fraudulent transactions.

The Westport Weston YMCA staff reviewed their video surveillance and observed the same female in the facility during the time frame of the thefts. They were also able to provide the registration plate of the suspect vehicle. Investigators were able to identify Alexandra Polino as the woman in the surveillance video and found the vehicle to be owned by a known associate of hers, according to police. An arrest warrant application was submitted for Polino and later granted.

Polino turned herself in on the active warrants at police headquarters on Thursday, Dec. 13. She was charged with third-degree identity theft, sixth-degree credit card theft and sixth-degree larceny and was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Court on Friday, Dec. 21.
